L1 Diesel Heater Station-SE, 8KW 12V All In One bluetooth

Got barrage of ads for this little beast on Google (like how did they know that I ran out of fire wood?). I wasn’t too sure about it but for such a reasonable price, I thought I would give it a go. I installed it in a 15x15 4-season porch which I use as an office in New England. Not much insulation so I needed something that would keep up with the heat loss without costing a mint. So far, so good. I am happy with it. I used an old PC power supply to give it the AC->DC. I was able to drill holes in the floor to fit in-take and exhaust lines out with a hole saw and a drill. I got the 5kw and run it at max and it keeps me comfortable. I wish that I had gotten the 8kw just to have some extra capacity. So far I am using about a gallon of diesel a day. I put in a cheap CO meter just in case. It hasn’t been a problem. There was a little fuel smell at the beginning but it went away after a couple of days. Remote starter works well. I didn’t think I wanted one but it is nice to fire this thing up when I wake up and it is toasty by the time I am ready to work.

Picked up this unit because of its portable feature. This thing puts out a lot of heat, minimal noise and is fairly easy to install hard to believe to get such a good year for such a cheap price. Figured I’d get one of these before the government decided to get “involved”.

This diesel heater is a great little heater. The remote control works great and makes it nice not to have to step outside to turn it on or off. My son and I built a wooden base for it to stand on so it’s very secure. I bought treated lumber so it will hold up in the snow. I also added about a 6-to-7-foot marine grade exhaust hose onto the end of the exhaust that comes with the unit. I did this to keep any carbon monoxide as far away from the fresh air intake as possible. Then I bought about a 3-inch marine grade hose for the inlet that feeds into my camper shell. I love this setup and it keeps my camper shell super warm. I highly recommend this particular unit to anyone looking to buy a diesel heater.

10 hours of testing- high heat output for a truck tent. The remote that comes with the unit is only a fuel pump regulator. The actual thermostat is located in the control modual connected to the unit. Using 3" dryer vent as duct, but be careful on the length as it will cause overheat if it's too long. Make sure to burn the heater for at least 5 hours to kill the smell from the heat exchanger and plastics. Also don't switch the heat from high straight to low, it leaves too much fuel in the burner and causes heavy exhaust. Slowly turn it down so it won't build up suit. The unit takes a few minutes to warm up but it'll quiet down as it gets up to temperature. Worth every penny for what it does.

I'm going to need to swallow my pride and do the right thing and tell how this story ended: In short I am embarrassed to admit I was 100% responsible for the heater not working. User error. 1. I had the fuel filter installed backwards. 2. I had OLD fuel in the tank. 3. I wasn't using a large enough battery (
